Four boxes. You name them.
Quadsheet is a project tracker that works like the paper grid it replaces. I designed, built, and run it, on the web, iOS, and Android, from a single codebase.

Why I built it
I tried many to-do apps. Some stuck for a while, some never worked, and some were too complicated. I kept going back to drawing a grid on a sheet of paper. Quadsheet is that sheet of paper, on every device I own.
Architecture
One TypeScript codebase, built with Expo and React Native, produces the iOS app, the Android app, and the web app. There is no custom API server: the apps talk directly to Supabase, which provides the Postgres database, sign-in, and realtime sync between devices. The web app is hosted on Cloudflare Workers.
Decisions worth explaining
Exactly four boxes
Four is enough to group your work and few enough that your day stays simple. You name the boxes the way you work: by project, or morning, afternoon, evening, and tomorrow. Everything else waits on a bench.
Security in the database, not in a server
With no API server in between, the rules for who can see what live in the database itself as row-level security policies. Those rules are covered by automated database tests, so a change that would expose someone's data fails before it ships.
It has to feel like paper
Every action updates the screen immediately and syncs in the background. Dragging, reordering, and swiping between boxes never wait on the network.
Running it
The database schema is managed through versioned migrations, and the app's types are generated from it, so the code and the database cannot drift apart. Builds go to the App Store and Google Play through an automated pipeline, small fixes ship as over-the-air updates through preview and production channels, and crashes and errors are reported automatically.
Where it stands
Quadsheet is live on the web, the App Store, and Google Play.
